Palworld Spinoff Palfarm Announced for PC With Cozy Farming Life and Multi-Language Support

Pocketpair announced Palworld: Palfarm, a new “cosy farming life” spinoff from its popular Palworld game, on Tuesday. The studio streamed a trailer highlighting the game’s farming, crafting, and life simulation elements, giving fans a glimpse of a more relaxing experience within the Palworld universe.

The game will be available on PC via Steam with support for multiple languages, including English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean. A release date has not been confirmed yet.

Development and Team

Pocketpair revealed that a new development team is handling Palfarm, indicating a fresh approach for the spinoff while staying true to the beloved mechanics of the main game.

Background of Palworld

The original Palworld launched in Steam Early Access in January 2024, reaching 25 million users within a month. The multiplayer survival game combines creature-collecting mechanics with exploration and crafting, quickly gaining a global following.

The full 1.0 release of Palworld is expected in 2026, officially exiting Early Access. The game is also available on PS5 (released in 68 countries in September 2024, later in Japan in October 2024) and macOS since March 4, 2024.

Cross-Platform Features and Expansions

Updates in late March 2024 enabled cross-platform play and world transfers for Pals, allowing players from different platforms to connect seamlessly. Pocketpair has also partnered with Sony Music Entertainment Japan and Aniplex to establish Palworld Entertainment, a joint venture aimed at expanding the franchise.

Additionally, Krafton, a South Korean developer, signed a licensing agreement to bring the Palworld IP to mobile platforms, signalling further expansion of the franchise.

Legal Issues

Pocketpair is currently involved in a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, related to certain gameplay mechanics. The company confirmed that gameplay changes in patches v0.3.11 (November 2024) and v0.5.5 were due to the ongoing litigation.
