Los Angeles-based publisher Manga Mavericks Books has announced new distribution partnerships that significantly expand its reach across North America and Europe.
The company confirmed it has secured a North American distribution agreement with Pathway Book Service, along with European distribution through Gazelle Book Services Ltd.
The move marks a major milestone for Manga Mavericks Books, a relatively new entrant into the North American manga publishing space. Under the agreement, Pathway Book Service will oversee book fulfillment, warehousing, and retail distribution for the publisher’s growing print catalog.
Pathway Book Service works with many of the largest retailers in the United States, including Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Walmart, and Amazon.
Through Pathway’s established relationship with Ingram Book Distributors and the iPage platform operated by Ingram Content Group, wholesalers, librarians, and booksellers will be able to search, order, and manage Manga Mavericks Books titles more efficiently.
In addition to strengthening its U.S. retail presence, the company is also expanding internationally. Select Manga Mavericks Books titles will now be distributed across the European Union through Gazelle Book Services Ltd., providing the publisher with broader access to overseas markets.
Varun Gupta, CEO of Manga Mavericks Books, described the agreements as a critical step in the company’s growth strategy.

“These distribution partnerships represent a key step in the growth of Manga Mavericks Books and will bring our catalog to a wide range of new readers,” Gupta said.
“2026 will be another big year for us with the debut of scores of new manga titles and licensing deals. This includes indie, classic, shojo and LGBTQ+ works from both rising and long-established Japanese creators, many of whom have never had their work released in the English market.”
The expanded distribution infrastructure comes as Manga Mavericks Books prepares to roll out an ambitious slate of new titles.
According to the company, its upcoming catalog will feature a diverse mix of independent works, classic manga, shojo titles, and LGBTQ+ stories, highlighting both emerging and established Japanese creators. Many of these works will be receiving their first official English-language release.
Manga Mavericks LLC originally launched in 2016 as a manga-focused news podcast. Over time, it evolved into a broader multimedia brand that includes a podcast network and a team of journalists and reviewers covering manga as both an art form and a global industry.
With the launch of its publishing arm, the company is positioning itself as a direct participant in the North American manga market rather than solely a media voice within it.
The new distribution agreements suggest the company is moving aggressively to secure shelf space and logistics support comparable to more established publishers.
By partnering with Pathway and leveraging Ingram’s distribution infrastructure, Manga Mavericks Books gains access to mainstream retail channels and institutional buyers. An essential component for scaling print operations.
Meanwhile, the Gazelle Book Services partnership signals clear international ambitions. While North America remains the company’s primary market, broader European distribution could help establish Manga Mavericks Books as a global player in English-language manga publishing.
As the manga market in the United States continues to show strong consumer demand, particularly among younger readers, improved distribution may position the company to compete more effectively in a crowded and rapidly growing segment.
With new licensing deals on the horizon and expanded access to retailers on two continents, Manga Mavericks Books appears poised for an active 2026.
