The highly anticipated third season of Jujutsu Kaisen will premiere in January 2026, officially adapting the manga’s Culling Game Arc. The announcement came during a special program on August 31, 2025, held to celebrate the anime’s fifth anniversary. Fans were treated to a brand-new teaser video that gave a glimpse of the intense battles and emotional stakes awaiting in the next chapter of Yuji Itadori’s story.
Crunchyroll confirmed that it will stream the new season globally, excluding Asia, with episodes available on the same day they air in Japan. This ensures international fans will be able to follow the action without delay.
First Look at the Teaser
The newly released teaser picks up right after the Shibuya Incident Arc. Key moments include a tense face-off between Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu, alongside appearances from major characters such as Megumi Fushiguro, Choso, Maki Zen’in, and Yuki Tsukumo. The fast-paced clips hint at the escalating danger as sorcerers are drawn into the deadly Culling Game.
Returning Staff and Cast
Studio MAPPA will once again handle the production, with Shota Goshozono returning as director. The creative team remains largely intact, including Hiroshi Seko overseeing and writing series scripts, Yosuke Yajima and Hiromi Niwa designing characters, and Yoshimasa Terui composing the music.
The main voice cast will also reprise their roles, ensuring continuity in performance. Junya Enoki returns as Yuji Itadori, Yuma Uchida as Megumi Fushiguro, Daisuke Namikawa as Choso, and Megumi Ogata as Yuta Okkotsu. Their performances have been central to the anime’s success, and fans can expect the same intensity in the new season.

Compilation Film Ahead of Season 3
Before the third season airs, fans can experience Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution – Shibuya Incident x The Culling Game Begins, a special theatrical release set to open in Japan on November 7, 2025. The film will combine highlights from the Shibuya Incident Arc while also screening the first two episodes of Season 3.
MAPPA released a striking key visual for the film, featuring Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsu standing in the ruins of Shibuya. International release dates are expected to follow soon after the Japanese premiere.
Anniversary Projects and Events
The fifth-anniversary celebrations go beyond the anime and film. An exhibition focusing on the Hidden Inventory and Shibuya Incident arcs will be held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City in Tokyo from December 5 to December 29, 2025, before travelling to other cities across Japan. This exhibition will give fans a closer look at artwork, storyboards, and behind-the-scenes content.
Looking ahead, “Juju Fes,” a large-scale fan event, is planned for the summer of 2026. In addition, a new teaser for the mobile game Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade was revealed, teasing future updates that tie into the anime’s ongoing storylines.
What to Expect Next
With Season 3 adapting the Culling Game Arc, fans can anticipate darker battles, complex alliances, and deeper character development. The combination of a theatrical release, anniversary events, and new mobile game content ensures that the Jujutsu Kaisen franchise will remain at the centre of anime culture throughout 2025 and 2026.
As excitement builds, all eyes are on Studio MAPPA to deliver another season that lives up to the series’ reputation for stunning animation and gripping storytelling.
