AnimeJapan, one of the world’s largest anime conventions, will return to Tokyo later this month with its biggest edition to date. The event, AnimeJapan 2026, will take place on March 28–29, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight, bringing together major anime studios, publishers, voice actors, and fans from around the world.
According to the official press announcement, the convention will feature more than 120 exhibitor booths, over 200 stage events, and more than 500 cast and staff appearances, making it the most expansive edition since the event first launched in 2014.
This year’s event will expand beyond the usual East Exhibition Halls at Tokyo Big Sight to also include the South Exhibition Halls and the Rooftop Exhibition Area, creating the largest exhibition space in AnimeJapan’s history. The previous edition drew more than 150,000 attendees, and organizers expect a similarly large turnout as the anime industry continues to grow globally.
Fans attending AnimeJapan 2026 will find a wide range of activities across the venue. Exhibitor booths will feature large-scale video presentations, anime exhibits, character photo spots, exclusive merchandise, and live stage programs featuring voice actors and production staff.
Approximately 20 companies will host their own booth stages, while the official AJ Stage will add another 50 events, bringing the total number of stage programs across the two-day event to around 200 sessions.
Many of the anime industry’s most prominent companies are confirmed to appear. Bandai Namco Filmworks will present a booth themed “Fateful Encounter,” showcasing special video screenings on a cube-shaped LED display along with character greetings and interactive activities.
ShoPro (Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions) will highlight several titles, including the Pokémon television anime, the latest Detective Conan film, and upcoming projects such as Aoashi Season 2 and Black Torch.
Other major exhibitors include Pony Canyon, whose booth will be themed around a retro-style game center with appearances from cast members across 13 anime titles, and TMS Entertainment / Sega Fave, which will present a “near-future cinema complex” concept featuring large-screen video displays and themed photo spots. Visitors will also receive limited-edition clear cards while supplies last.
Several studios will celebrate major milestones during the event. Toei Animation, marking its 70th anniversary, will host exhibits of popular works along with character greeting sessions and exclusive novelty items. Meanwhile, Frontier Works will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the series Tanuki and Fox with themed displays, art exhibitions, and interactive activities.
Additional booths will showcase new and popular anime projects from companies such as KADOKAWA, Aniplex, King Records, ADK Emotions, Avex Pictures, and TOHO animation. TOHO’s booth alone will highlight major titles including Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia, The Apothecary Diaries, and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, along with exclusive merchandise created for the event.

Tickets for AnimeJapan 2026 are currently on sale. Standard admission costs 2,500 yen per day, while a limited fast-entry ticket priced at 3,900 yen offers priority access to the venue, though it must be purchased alongside a regular admission ticket.
In addition to the public exhibition days, the event will also host Business Days on March 30–31, featuring industry booths and seminars aimed at professionals in the anime business. A separate Family Anime Festa will run during the same weekend, offering character photo sessions, workshops, and stage shows designed for younger audiences.
With hundreds of industry participants and dozens of major anime franchises represented, AnimeJapan 2026 is expected to once again serve as a central gathering point for both fans and industry professionals, showcasing the latest developments and future trends across the anime world.
