AnimeJapan 2026 is shaping up to be the biggest edition in the event’s history, with organizers confirming more than 200 stage events, over 500 guests, and 120+ exhibitors. The large-scale anime convention will take place on March 28 and 29, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight, expanding across multiple exhibition halls to accommodate its growing scope.
Now in its 13th year, AnimeJapan continues to cement its position as one of the world’s leading anime events. This year’s expansion includes not only the East Exhibition Halls but also the South Exhibition areas and rooftop spaces, allowing for a broader range of activities and larger crowd capacity. Following last year’s attendance of over 150,000 visitors, expectations are even higher for 2026.
Across the two-day public event, fans can expect a packed schedule of live programming, including over 200 stage appearances featuring voice actors, creators, and industry personalities. The official AJ Stage lineup alone will host 50 programs spread across four themed stages, RED, GREEN, BLUE, and WHITE, while additional presentations will take place at exhibitor booths throughout the venue.
For those unable to attend in person, AnimeJapan will livestream major stage events through platforms such as ABEMA, NicoNico Live, YouTube Live, and X (formerly Twitter). This global accessibility ensures that fans worldwide can follow announcements, panels, and exclusive reveals in real time.
Beyond stage programming, the event offers a wide range of interactive experiences. A large-scale digital stamp rally will feature 22 checkpoints across the venue, allowing attendees to collect exclusive rewards such as character-themed clear files and official AnimeJapan shopper bags. Merchandise will also play a major role, with the return of the popular AJ Gacha system offering collectible badges, including rare holographic variants.
The AnimeJapan Food Park will once again provide themed dining options, with multiple vendors and collaboration kitchen trucks serving anime-inspired meals.
Visitors purchasing items at select booths will receive limited-edition stickers, adding another layer of collectible appeal to the event experience. Meanwhile, cosplay fans can take part in the Cosplayers World area, which includes dedicated facilities and special programming such as the Cosplay Dance Entertainment Festival.
Fan engagement remains a core focus, with the return of the popular “Manga You Want to See Animated” ranking, which has already drawn more than 220,000 votes. In addition, a new initiative centered on indie games will allow fans to vote on titles they want adapted into anime, highlighting the growing crossover between the anime and gaming industries.
Tickets for AnimeJapan 2026 are currently available, with advance passes priced at ¥2,500 and same-day tickets at ¥2,800. The event will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on both public days, with business-focused sessions scheduled for March 30 and 31.
With its expanded venue, record-breaking lineup, and global livestream reach, AnimeJapan 2026 is positioned as a key moment in the anime calendar. From major announcements to immersive fan experiences, this year’s event is expected to deliver one of the most comprehensive anime showcases to date.
