Romelia War Chronicle moves forward with its 2026 anime adaptation, revealing its teaser visual, main cast, and upcoming stage event at AnimeJapan 2026. Carrying the tagline “I shall start again from here,” the series presents a post–Demon King narrative centered on resurgence and reconstruction, led by one determined young woman and the knights who stand beside her.
The principal cast has now been confirmed. Yuna Nemoto voices Romelia Von Graham, a count’s daughter who helps defeat the Demon King alongside her fiancé, Prince Henri, only to have their engagement abruptly annulled after victory. Jin Ogasawara plays Al, a key soldier within the army organized under Romelia’s leadership, while Tomohiro Ono voices Ray.
Yuna Nemoto commented on her role, stating, “I truly admire Romelia’s strength and convictions, how she builds everything step by step and continues moving forward even when starting from nothing.” All three cast members are scheduled to appear at the PONY CANYON booth during AnimeJapan 2026 at Tokyo Big Sight.
The talk stage will take place on Sunday, March 29, at 11:30 AM (JST). On-site viewing applications will be accepted via PONY CANYON’s digital ticket app “ポニキャン(PONYCAN)” from Friday, February 20, through Sunday, March 8, at 11:59 PM (JST).
Staff details have also been announced. The series is directed by Hiroshi Shirai, whose past work includes Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero as well as event scene direction for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the Xenoblade series.
Series composition and scripts are handled by Aya Satsuki, known for titles such as TETSURYO! meet with Tetsudou Musume, A Girl & Her Guard Dog, Ippon again!, the film NEMURUBAKA -Hypnic Jerks-, and the Sanrio virtual parade Spooky ’n’ Sweet Mansion. Animation production will be overseen by Atra.
Romelia War Chronicle: Even After Defeating the Demon King, Humanity Still Seems Doomed, So I Formed a Military Force originated on the web novel platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō.
The story follows Romelia, cast aside by the prince immediately after defeating the Demon King, as she builds and commands a military force to restore a fractured world in the aftermath of war. Combined circulation of the original novel and manga adaptation has surpassed 550,000 copies. Additional updates will be released through the official website and social media channels.

In her full comment, Yuna Nemoto said: “This is Yuna Nemoto, the voice of Romelia Von Graham. Romelia is a character who does things most people would never even imagine.
With the support of my fellow cast and the entire team, I gave my all to convey her thoughts, determination, and unique charm. I truly admire her strength and unwavering convictions as she builds something new from nothing.
Please be sure to witness Romelia and her companions’ battles with your own eyes!” Jin Ogasawara described the series as blending realistic military elements with fantasy “like metallized wood, where reality and fantasy fuse together,” noting Al’s contrast between his rough demeanor and deep compassion.
Tomohiro Ono added that he sees the story as one of growth, explaining that Ray evolves significantly through his encounters with Romelia and others, and that he intends to grow alongside the character.
The anime is scheduled to begin airing in 2026.

The narrative begins after Romelia and Prince Henri defeat the Demon King Zelgis, only for Henri to coldly declare, “I am annulling our engagement.” While others celebrate victory, Romelia turns her attention to a homeland left in ruin after years of war.
Determined to restore peace through her own means, she raises an army, works to revive the economy, and confronts conspiracies and renewed conflict. The story focuses not on the triumph over evil, but on the difficult reconstruction that follows, a tale of rebirth shaped by resolve, sacrifice, and leadership.
The manga adaptation, titled Romelia War Chronicle: The Count’s Daughter Rallies an Army in the Wake of Mankind’s Victory, is based on the original story by Ryo Ariyama (originally published by Shogakukan, Gagaga Bunko), with manga by Ryo Kamito and original character designs by Kodama. The English version is published by Seven Seas, with Volume 1 currently on sale.
