Actor Park Hyung Sik and his agency, REVE Entertainment, have officially denied reports claiming he was paid 400 million KRW (approx. $289,700 USD) per episode for his role in the KBS2 fantasy drama “Twelve.”
On September 16, entertainment outlet Dispatch reported that Park Hyung Sik received one of the industry’s highest per-episode appearance fees for his role as Ogui, a mysterious celestial being in Twelve.
The eight-episode drama followed the story of 12 angels living in human form to protect the Korean Peninsula from evil forces.
Despite a strong start with 8.1% viewership on its premiere, the series ended with a 2.4% rating for its finale, leading to discussions on its return-on-investment and cast salaries.

The agency further emphasized the actor’s commitment and professionalism:
“From the initial reports about ‘Doctor Slump’ to the recent ‘Twelve,’ these inaccurate reports are being treated as fact. Park Hyung Sik participates in every project with sincerity and dedication.”

Industry Buzz and Salary Transparency
Rumors about appearance fees in Korean dramas often generate public scrutiny, especially when linked to fluctuating ratings.
Though Park Hyung Sik’s exact salary remains undisclosed, this incident highlights ongoing concerns about pay transparency in the entertainment industry and the disproportionate spotlight on top-billed actors.
With no further comment expected from the actor, it’s clear REVE Entertainment aims to close the matter.
